8am~Mom talked with dad this am. He is still saying he cannot take deep breaths. Nurses are still working him hard on deep breathing. Did not get up in chair during night. Maybe today.
4pm~Dad was sitting up in a chair eating ice cream when Mom, Shaw, and Ry visited him today! He is down to one blood pressure med and they hope to take him off of it soon. He still has fluid in his lungs that they are trying to get him to cough out, but he does not want to cough.
8pm~Dad ate well tonight. :) Even joked around. He sat in a chair a couple times today. He is still in ICU. Hopefully, he will be transferred to a regular room either tomorrow or Tues. Thankful he is realizing that he has to cough.

Dad's pain is being controlled well. He sat up on the edge of the bed this afternoon. His heart misfires occasionally and his blood pressure drops way low. His BP needs to be more stable before they can let him out of ICU. He is having difficulty breathing deep and coughing and has some fluid on the lungs which can be expected, but pray that he can breathe deep so it opens up and does not turn into pneumonia. Mom is doing well. She must have just talked to Dad's nurse because she just now text me, "For the most part he's progressing slowly but steady. The sit up went painfully well, they will get him in a chair sometime tonight." He must have sat at the edge of the bed again tonight and will get in a chair later tonight. So that is cool.
God is so good, and we can see many little glimpses of His hand in all of this. Thank you for your prayers.

Mom got an update a bit ago: Whenever Dad awakens he is quite agitated so his blood pressure is not stable. Please pray he calms down. They are still needing to medicate him to keep him calm. Once he is more calm, his BP is more stable, and his oxygen levels continue good, they can start taking him off the breathing tube. He did need a couple units of blood tonight which is normal. His condition is good.
Dad went into surgery around 7:40am and came out around 3:30pm, I think. They did a quintuple bypass. He is recovering. He still has a breathing tube. Mom, Bob, Ry, Shaw, and I were able to see him. When he woke at one point, the nurse told him Mom was there. He squeezed Mom's hand twice and moved his eyes. They are keeping him quite sedated. Thank you for your prayers.

Gumpy
Please pray for my Dad. He had a heart attack today. He is having a bipass surgery tomorrow morning up in Eugene. Doc said possibly a 5 or 6 bipass, but they will not know for sure until they are in there. My Mom, sibs, and I will be up there while they are cutting on him. Please pray for Mom too for strength and peace.

Mom was finally brave enough to give Mye cheerios today. Mye was in heaven... :)
We just finished watching Dumbo for the girls first time. Mye was standing alone looking up watching our TV. I watched as she slowly fell backward onto a pillow and rolled off on to her side! She was having a seizure. It started at 6:38. Her arms and legs had gently repeating movements. Her eyes were nonfucused. She was drooling and had raspy breath. I ran to the table where I always keep my purse. It was not there! I told Selah I would be right back, grabbed Myelle, and ran to the car. Hoping, Hoping, Hoping, it was there. It was not. I came back into the house, put Mye on her side on the living room floor, and searched for my phone because at this point I figured that if I could not find my purse I would have to call 911. Found the phone! Looked for the purse again. Found it on my bed. Yay! Ran back to Myelle and was able to give her her rescue medication called diastat at 6:45. Her left leg and hip were starting to mottle. Her seizure ended 6:49. Just in time! Whew. So glad I found the purse with her med in it. I usually always have it with me or know where it is. Poor little one had a hard time getting through her post ictal period. She did not want down for 2 1/2 hours. She did not want to be alone. Poor Sey was traumatized too, I think, because while I was trying to comfort Mye as she was moaning a few minutes after her seizure Sey saw a HUGE spider climbing up the wall 3 feet from her. I rescued her, but she totally freaked out. Seizures plus huge spiders were just too much! Mye's Temp was 101.9 at 7pm then 100.9 at 8pm. At 11:30pm it was 97.8. Thank you, Jesus, that she is sleeping well and doing fine. Thank you that she was not injured during her fall. Please help her and Sey to not have any more seizures.
